OK so My AC stopped getting cool except early in AM when cool. Compressor clutch was replaced last year and it still engages for 2 seconds tops and disengages. Tried a can of refrigerant and no real improvement. Watched the system on Forscan and sure enough as soon as the compressor clutch starts the High pressure switches it off. Replaced both upper and lower switches no change. Then I remembered I had the service CD on the old computer ... UGGH the Hard drive has failed. Tried installing on newer laptop only to figure it wont run. The installer is a 16 bit deal so I downloaded OTVDM to emulate 16 bit on 64 bit laptop. It installed but the software still doesn't run. There is no new executable than the install. I was hoping to access the pinpoint tests and troubleshooting that was in the data. Does anyone have the service manual in PDF format by chance? I have checked the fan when engine is below 205 and turning the AC on to verify the fan works. I swapped a used CCRM in and no change. At this point I am thinking it has to be a restriction or the ECU is comanding the compressor off. If i could get to the data on the disk I could read the operation details. I am at wits end and not being able to remove humidity here in the deep south is a pain in the keester. I am open to ideas .

There was another discussion on this recently that might be insightful on the topic of AC.

I always use a set of mechanical pressure gauges on the AC lines, to verify correct pressures and or reveal an internal restriction. The system is fairly simple and since the with the compressor is turning on and off .. it sounds more like an internal issue ( pressure sensor or clogged filter ) than a control issue ( wiring components ).

I have a service CD for my former '06 Crown Vic which is date restricted. If you download a program to allow for "Run As Date", you may be able to access the information through that.

of all the tools i have a set of gages isn't it and none of my friends do their own work. I guess I'll have to hit harbor freight.

You might be able to rent tools like a gauge set from your local auto parts store as well. If it's not something you need to use frequently.

Oracle VirtualBox is good for basic virtualization. Since Broadcom bought VMWare, everything with them has gone haywire...

I have vanilla ISOs of basically every MS OS out there. ;)

There's a keygen for xp now; it even works for server. A 32 bit os will run 16 bit stuff, even win 7 or win 10.
