Other than the suspension, is a beautiful car. You couldn't rebuild a 100,000 mile car to that nice for that money. If it was a combo I wanted, I would pay $17-18k for that car. 5-speed would be closer to 20k.

That's probably just my take after spending way more than that on an old pile of rust 😅

We’ve all seen how factory electric red ages, it’ll look like this in 3 years 😆

iirc, those are the gm 'metric' trans. They barely handle a 2.8l v6, lol. That's what was in my firebird.

My FB was a 83 2.8. that engine was not great, I broke it twice, lol.

I dig it. Props to this guy for taking a car that gets absolutely no love and doing something with it. Curious to hear what he did to build the trans to handle that power.

I miss mine, really unfortunate that the engine blew.

If you look at his interior post, he has a TBird SC emblem on the steering wheel.

Good catch. That's such a drag man, probably the best looking LeSabre of that generation I'll ever see

I have what I think is a quart jug of it, might only be a pint, which I have been using in the shop for probably the last 3 or 4 years, and is still about half full!
I go through a couple of 8 ounce jars of the copper stuff each year. Virtually any underbody fastener or close fitting joint (e.g. wheel bearings in hubs or those stoooopid Subaru ball joints that insert into a blind hole in the knuckle) gets a coat of it. If I really like you, I'll break out the Motorcraft high temp nickel anti-seize for exhaust fasteners.

I slather that shit on everything, but I wouldn't use one of those in a lifetime, lol.

What’s crazy is I use antisieze on literally everything and very liberally and in my life have only ever bought two bottles of the stuff. By contrast I rarely use threadlocker yet every time I do I need a new tube of the stuff 😆

Something to remember with thread locker is that it hardens in the absence of air, so leave a big air bubble in the bottle.

I looked on car part, and the jy I want to get to has several mn 12s and marks.

I found one local, I have to go get it.
But I'll print that; they want $600 for a 95 engine, lol.
A 03 tc engine is only 400. It' supposed to be awesome, minimal chance of rain. I'll get the pump replaced, And have the red one running. I realize why I could hear the fp sometimes in the stereo; the rca's are running parallel to the wires to the pump. :rolleyes.
So I'm running power pass side, thru the pass floor, to the starter and ground, and the new rca's go on the drivers side.

Somebody help me understand what this is. Are you adapting a T5 to mate up to a T56 bellhousing? If so, why not just get the proper bellhousing for probably less than what he is asking for this? Or is he adapting a T56 to mate to a T5 bellhousing. Same question applies here as I have to believe SBC T56 bellhousings are easy (and cheap) to find.

I just think these are cool. I've seen a few pretty nice ones for sale recently. I'm still not 100% sold on the rear styling, but V8, RWD, and two doors. Honestly for the money and what people are asking for some absolute junk from the 60's/70's, you could build this thing up for not a ton of money and have a pretty cool car. I'd leave the exterior untouched unless required to install larger brakes. I also like similar generation Cordobas.

This is an interesting way to frame it. I'm not hoarding MN12 and other obsolete car parts. This is my parts business.

I like those Imperials too, I think the design was ahead of its time as the profile isn’t all that different from the aero Tbirds and Mark VII, but people have a hard time seeing past the bustleback kink.

I like 70s cars, always have, they’re dirt cheap by old car standards and yeah yeah big bumpers and button tufted pillow seats, I know I know, but the bones are as good of a foundation for a street machine as any 60s cars, if not better as handling and braking on a lot of them is surprisingly good(relatively speaking of course). I blame the California based automotive press, that never anything after 74 attitude by people is squarely parroted from those rags because CA emissions tests cars from 75 or later, otherwise they’d have caught on like any other generation of car

I just chatted with him briefly, and it's still available.

Now, I could buy this and then re-sell it with a profit. But you know what: you all have at it! I'd rather stick to selling my junkyard parts.

If this makes a great purchase for one of your all's cars, I'm happy.

You could always resell it here for a fair finders fee
