Coolant level sensor?

So my my original coolant tank threads have given up the ghost thanks to OEM tools pressure tester adapter not having the correct threads. I picked up a good used one off a '95 back in the spring as I knew I would need it. Well the high temps made that dream come true. Well, the level sensor on the original didn't let go until I broke it. It was seriously stuck and I knew it was not likely to survive but I tried. I am now thinking they weren't meant to be changed. The replacement one didn't have one nor the float so I am at a loss. Apparently it is a magnetic sensor as there is no seal as coolant can't escape. I have looked on Ford Parts Giant and no luck. I think I may have found something close enough to work, but I don't have a float as I trashed my original as I could not see how to remove or install in the replacement tank. Guess I'm gonna have to start checking under the hood at each fillup. just like the olden days. Guess I am officially an old fart.
