Whoa, whoa Vicinity. No reason to be angry. I'm sure many parts of this will survive, and just because they filed for bankruptcy doesn't mean they are going away. There are a lot of valuable pieces in this company. I would be devastated if I cannot get Centric C-TEK rotors anymore. Those are my bread and butter for brake jobs.

I do hope that these brands get sold off to other companies for continuing support.

I can't see that not happening. If a demand is there for a service or product it will be available. Who know maybe Amazon could buy even more into the business.

However unrelated to this, I think going forward there will be a reduction of Autopart stores. It's kind of ridiculous now how every small town seems to have about 3. Throw in the trend of online shopping and I can see one of the major chains going under eventully. Which one is going to become the next Riteaid or Radioshack ?

My small town has 5, lol. 2x AutoZones, 2x O'Reilly's, and 1x NAPA.

All within 3 miles of each other, and 4 of those 5 are within 1 block of each other.

I would almost prefer if they straight up went bankrupt and all the brands went away. Instead, someone is going to buy them, reduce the quality, and start selling junk based on reputation of the brand name. Here goes another round of trying to figure out which brands we can still trust.
