Hey everyone.
I'm having a hard time finding forged internals for my 99-04 New Edge Mustang 3.8L.
I already know of Super Six and Morana, but I'm wondering if there are any other options.
I don't want a turbo, or super charger set up. Just something around 9-10:1 compression for naturally aspirated daily use, but occasionaly nitrous duty. I'm thinking Super Coupe rods and some other aftermarket piston. Any help is appreciated.

If you aren’t going boosted, then forged internals are extreme overkill. Multiple people have made over 400whp with the stock cast 4.2 crank. Talk to to Dave Dalke at Super Coupes Unlimited. He can guide you in the right direction for what you want, and can either build the engine for you, or just sell you the proper components if you want to build it yourself.

I can’t help you on pistons but 351 Windsor rods interchange with the 3.8. Crank if you want forged you’d need the SC crank

351W rods are close, but not an exact interchange for the 3.8 rods. They are slightly longer, requiring different pistons. If you are going with stock stuff, the SC rods are just as strong as the 351W rods, but if doing a build with aftermarket internals, people will typically buy an aftermarket 351W rod, combined with a custom piston. I still say all that is way overkill for a naturally aspirated V6 build though. I would just run a stock 4.2 rotating assembly, maybe add some ring gap due to the nitrous, and just send it.

The 351w rods require more Mallory to add to the neutral balance crankshaft of the New Edge Mustang 3.8L. Thats why I'm considering the Super Coupe forged rods. The New Edge rods are powder cast metal that cant handle more than 300hp.
I just need a forged set of pistons that are some where in the range of 9-10:1 compression. The stock Super Coupe pistons are 8.5:1 , I believe.

Even the SC pistons weren’t forged. An SC crank, a set of 94/95 SC rods, and a good set of hypereutectic pistons is good for at least 400whp. Alternatively, you could go with a 4.2 crank, hypereutectic pistons, and aftermarket rods, which will be equally as strong. The 4.2 crank, even though it is cast not forged, has been shown to be significantly stronger than the cast 3.8 crank, and some people with SCs have exceeded 500hp with a stock 4.2 cast crank and aftermarket rods and pistons. Also, if you are going naturally aspirated and buying custom pistons anyway, bump that compression ratio up. You should be at least 10:1 for a N.A. build.
