As many of you know, my 6 year project is finally near ready to hit the streets. I need to get insurance that compensates for the cost to build something like this. I did a lot of the work myself, and I don't think I will include any cost of my time, but actual cost of the build minus the cost to fix the rust, is what I hope to cover.
We've seen extremely clean original cars that have a hard time fetching $15000. So, regular coverage on a restored and/or highly modified car will be a drop on the bucket if Iran sent a rocket for it and I had a total loss. This is the case for many of your cars, so I want to see what you think.
1. What company do you use?
2.What type of coverage do you have? Agreed Value, Actual Cash Value, or Stated Value?
My understanding is Actual is what most normal newer cars have. Stated is basically the same, but with a higher "possible" payout. Agreed Value is the value of your car that you and the insurance company agree to. That said, the insurance company will laugh if I ask them for $200,000 coverage on a 91 Cougar. Hopefully there's a company that is reasonable on value.
Thanks in advance
