I've not used Linux in a long time, but I have an extra laptop that's a couple years old. I'm thinking of setting up Linux on it. The last time I was using Linux was Ubuntu. Any suggestions? The goal is for a personal laptop, basic stuff no gaming, etc.

Ubuntu is the one I use on our servers. I have a guy on the team that uses Kubuntu daily - he said it's Ubuntu under the hood but has a UI that should be intuitive for Windows folks.

My shop computer is set up with Linux mint (https://linuxmint.com/) and its pretty good, not quite as smooth as windows but thats a given and probable with any linux os. This is obviously tagging onto theterminator93 because mint is also ubuntu based. I like it and it works well
