A few years ago when I redid my rear suspension, I replaced my fuel pump, some broken vac lines, filler neck, and also replaced the fuel cap with a new Motorcraft vented style. (I even tried my original cap)
Ever since then I can’t fully pull the gas pump trigger without it clicking off, I could only hold it maybe 3/4 of the way.
I didn’t want to pull the tank again after all that cause it’s a huge PITA.
So, this past winter when I did my trans swap, I replaced the vent valve on the tank, and double checked the lines, I even went and replaced my charcoal canister and purge valve and it still does the same thing.
Is there something I’m missing here??
