I think I need to rebearing my SC.
Looking for a tutorial, my searches have been fruitless.

Yeah more details needed… rod bearings? Main bearings? Supercharger bearings? Wheel bearings? Alternator bearings?😝

If its the SC itself, it may just be the coupler. 😉

Sorry, to clarify,,,, the supercharger on the motor.
The bearings in the back of it seem to be rattling.
I used a mechanic stethoscope to pinpoint it. The snout seems good. I've tried searching here and sccoa to see if there's a tutorial and part #s but nothing so far.

Here are the bearings you need.

You also need the anaerobic sealer, and while you have it all apart, I would at the very least replace the coupler with a solid one as well.
Or you could rebuild the snout completely while it is apart with a kit like this.
Replacing them is pretty straightforward. Remove all the bolts around the snout, take the snout off, then separate the rotor pack from the case and remove the rotor pack, then just knock out the bearings and press in new ones.

Just wondering if anyone has seen anything like these #s before? Removed the snout thinking this Supercharger was original seeing as I've owned it since 1999 but upon splitting the snout off it is clear it's been apart and surfaces cleaned for reassembly and these #s have been put in the snout case plus it appears to be cast March 94. Any input appreciated.

Got the rotors out,, case is quite scratched up, is it worth working with? It was making 7-8lbs boost.

Is that a 94 stamped on the casting ? The MP .. magnum powers maybe ? Do you have a rectangular inlet or an oval ? The 94/95 with the rectangle are definately worth rebuilding. 7-8 seems low, is that at WOT ? I'd expect more like 12 or 15+ if you're using an early model pulley on the late model ( it's a 3% OD at that rate )

That case looks to be in pretty bad shape. If it is an early model blower with the oval case, I would just replace it. Stock boost should be more like 12psi, so if you were only making 7-8, you are definitely losing power.

I do have an early style blower with an OD pulley that made 14psi. If you’re interested, I can pull it apart to make sure everything is good inside. I’m not sure how much shipping would be going to Canada, but I’d sell it for $150 plus shipping costs.

Haven't seen 10 on the gage at work.
Yes the snout has a 94 casting date in it but
it's an early oval case.
I have another oval one in the car as well but wont
have the car on the street for a month or so,, weather.
I will certainly consider the offer MadMikeyL. Also I have a US mailing address to keep it simple.

If you decided to do the front bearings that the rotors spin on, make sure to mark the rotors as they relate to each other. The rotors are timed. If you put them back together incorrectly they make a a terrible scraping noise.

Thanks, yes I thought they would be timed.
I have the car together ready for the cruise season so I'm gonna run this other SCer and see what boost it makes.

Sounds good! GO have fun!
