...when adding fog / driving lights and the manufacture says to put lens facing a certain way, follow those instructions.

I installed my driving lights some time ago, but was not sure why they did not seem to light up the street that well. The other day I was going over the Hella manual on how to hook the lamps up to the headlights so power is only going to the lights when the headlights are on. I found something I should have read. Hella says to ensure that the lens of the driving / fog light is with the emblem facing right-side UP. Not upside down. I took the car for a drive that night after changing out the lens and had a noticeable difference in the lighting. (this does not apply to LED lamps)

Even though the lamp emblem is upside down, the lens emblem needs to be right side up.

While looking at some reviews of the Hella 450 lamp that I have, I came across this remark to a person that was asking about these lamps:

"I can't imagine paying $100 for halogen anything. Is there an LED option that is equivalent?" The article went on to show various types, power consumption, lumens, etc. between the two.

Anybody interested in a set of Hella 450 halogen lamps? :P

My OEM SC fog lights are mounted upside down (only way they’d fit with the 94-95 Cougar cutouts that look like they should have fog lights but don’t), and indeed their output kinda sucks….. then again that is also true of them in factory form as well 😆

Are you using them as Fog lights or driving lights? Cool LEDs are not ideal for true fog lights IMO, unless they light up selective yellow
