I am really thinking about debadging the trunk of my Thunderbird. I wanted to hear some opinions and see if anyone has a picture of one without the badges on the back.

I don’t have a pic straight on, I can take one tomorrow, but I removed the emblems on my 97 and filled the holes before painting it. I think it looks much cleaner, but with the holes that need to be filled, I wouldn’t do it unless the car was getting painted anyway.

I would like to see that if you can't get a picture, I am getting the whole car painted so that's not a problem.

Ive also had someone ask about my 'dodge' :)

Definitely, that looks great. I also think it has sort of a stealthy vibe, where a less automotively inclined onlooker would say: what car is that?
In my case folks in parking lots and other public places often call out "look at that old Tbird" I just wave and smile as I rev it a little. I was at the junkyard Friday snagging a left rear knuckle/Hub, Axle and caliper bracket and I cut a piece of wire and cut the script badge off since it was not broken. (fishing line works better) My original one has the 'T' broken from a young kid of mine climbing up on trunk when he was a youngun'. I believe the FORD oval has no holes.

I could take a picture of my other sons car tomorrow. But i think everyone has it covered. I like the debadged look. Our cars are old enough now that many people don’t know what they are.

I guess I'll join the party too. I suppose mine isn't 100% debadged since it still has the Ford logo on it. You can do what I did and find a decklid in the same color as your car, but from a '92-'95 that doesn't have the "Thunderbird" script on it. That's the easy way out.

Actually I wish I could get the birds off of the taillights but I know that they're indented so there would still be that shape molded in.

It’s a bitch getting them off too, and as you can probably see the emblem doesn’t come off clean.

I can't believe no one else said this...

"Badges? We don't need no stinkin' badges!"

Nice! My biggest peeve on MN12s is the Blue Oval. No Thunderbird from 55-05 Had a blue oval or even much of any external Ford badging at all for that matter until MN12s. It cheapened the model with its presence IMO

That’s part of why I’m a Cougar snob… no no Mercury never deviated from tradition at all with those 😆

OG version anyone?

LOL I figured that was a reference to something I never saw and there it is. It’s like when I see the 80s movie Family Guy or The Simpsons referenced that makes so much more sense lol

I 100 percent agree, I don't see a reason why it should be there.
