In the next attempt to un-highschool my car, I'm putting A/C back in it. If anyone has the lines laying around, or is going to a junkyard, please let me know.

I was able to get all new lines from rock auto. They seem fine, but I have yet to charge the system and try it out

You know I'm usually the first to offer help, but A. I wouldn't know how to properly inspect and remove those lines, and B. I'm not entirely confident the junkyards around here fully evacuate the system.

You need this sort of tool to slip over the line and through the connector to release the lock spring and they simply pull apart. Same as the fuel lines.

As for the charge, junkyards are by law supposed to recover the refrigerant (r134a is a greenhouse gas afterall), so if there’s still refrigerant in the system that’s on them when I stick a screwdriver in the port and let it all out, it’s going to happen when they crush the car anyway so no guilt on my conscious.

I also got new ones from RA last year when I fixed a leak and recharged the system. They fit okay, but were off a bit from the factory lines. Not anything most poeple will notice, but had I known I would have paid more for better fitting ones. I didn't check if Ford even makes them anymore.
They are still holding up fine and system is working great!

That Florida heat getting to you? 😜
I may have have some good lines to rip off my thunderbird, but my compressor went, so how good they are... not sure. I will assume the lower one is rotted like every one of these cars ive had, but let me know if this makes you curious and ill get pictures of stuff.

I do not plan on fixing my ac for awhile

Pictures would be great

Found I can get all new pieces for $370. Condenser to drier and even the compressor.

But I also found a hemi for sale near me for $500 so it's quite the dilemma

The issue about having a mortgage and a truck payment is that I can't just go get both any more
