What a glorious day for Canada, and therefore of course, the world.

Wow 10 years! Good thing our presidents are limited to 8 years (at least for now.)

Anyway, here’s wishing you and the rest of our neighbors to the North all the best under new leadership! :zbeer:

Trudeau was Canada's Obama. Ran on a campaign of hope and change and young ideas. I was in Ottawa in 2015 and watching that campaign go down felt like a mirror of 2008.

Big difference though was after Trudeau won, he catered to the far left that Obama widely ignored while in office. In doing so, he did the opposite of Obama and abandoned the center voter. That ultimately dug a divide between him and the electorate. Had it not been for the NDP, he'd have been toast in 2021.

I was listening to the CBC today and was shocked at how hard they were coming down on him and Jagmeet. Essentially they were crapping their pants scared over how Trump will exploit this to Canada's disadvantage between now and the inevitable election early this summer.

They were mostly pissed that he didn't resign sooner and is now a lame duck leading a prorogued Parliament with Trump taking office in two weeks. They had words for Jagmeet too after his fiery statements asking where the hell he's been for the past six months.

I know the CBC isn't perfect or wholly unbiased, but man it was a breath of fresh air for them to call it like it is.

With that being said, I can't wait to watch Mark Carney get skulldragged by Pierre in a few months. Feels like 1984 all over again.

I have no stake in Canadian politics but apparently Toronto Star(who owns VerticalScope) was quite happy with his economic vision that destroyed every car forum on the internet. So fuck him, and haha!

When a shit apple falls from a tree and grows up in a field of shit, it doesn't have any choice.

The Toronto Star isn't worth buying to wipe your ass with. Nothing but Liberal Party propaganda from the party exiles on Bay Street.

The only neat thing about them is their address is 1 Yonge Street (the building on the right), which marks the start of the longest street in the world.

Canadians became wealthier while he was in power

Sure thing Toronto Star.... Maybe if you are a land/slumlord. These days it costs like 2 million to find a one bedroom house in the greater Toronto area and families are struggling to afford groceries.
I haven't visited Canada in decades, but from what I have heard the area I used to frequent has gone to hell.

Hopefully things get better with a new government and Trudeau finally gone

None of my Toronto, Ottawa, or Montreal friends actually live in Toronto, Ottawa, or Montreal anymore.

They all have been forced to live 60-90 minutes out of the suburbs in the last five years despite working in the cities or suburbs because rent is too high.
