What's the difference in instrument bezels, 96 & 97.

The instrument cluster on the '97 is Taurus-ish shaped whereas the '96 and earlier had the '89+ gauge layout. Is your bezel broken?

using a 97 bezel in a 94-96 will cover over the bottom row of warning lights on the cluster, using a 94-96 bezel in a 97 will expose the outer edges of the cluster and make the inside of the dash visible
