As the resident junkyard aficionado here, I can tell you that I only pick up bezels in very good condition, which are extremely rare. 9 out of 10 have cracks. The few good ones may not be the right color (Cougars' match the interior) or the right year (1997 is different from previous years).
Now I'm not saying that you couldn't fix a cracked or otherwise damaged unit. It's just not something I would pick up in the junkyard myself, because it wouldn't reach a price worthy of the time it takes to remove it.
Also consider that shipping these bezels requires extremely careful packaging. I had two being destroyed by USPS.
Do you have any local junkyards where you are? You can Google LKQ, Row52, Foss U Pull, Wegotused, Pick-n-Save, to name just a few. Always drop the steering column before removal to prevent cracking.
Your best bet is to find one yourself. You can also try tbscshop dot com, though I personally have never done business with them.
Best of luck!
