1995 Cougar 4.6 Special Edition; seen 12JUN25

If you ever come across a good pair of Cougar headlights, I'm your huckleberry. I'd like a spare set.

I've seen cars a few times that seemingly got brand new headlights shortly before they were junked. I just never picked them up because they're not that expensive on Rockauto.

Ahhhh. That I didn't know. Is that why people install the Grand Marquis ones?

Beautiful headlights are just very rare in the junkyards. But I'll keep an eye out going forward.
It's one of the reasons, and some like the more clear look of the GM lights. I think they show for a better bulb, as well. I had a set on my parts car, but didn't care for them as much as my stockers. This will be the second time I saved them with a sand and polish, so assuming some day I'll need a set

Same reason people put 96-97 headlights into 94-95 Tbirds, to do away with the older style fresnel lenses for the more modern clear lens/retroreflector. Coincidentally the Grand Marquis ones are the same shape and use the same mounting as 91-95 Cougar lights, the header panel just needs a little clearancing for them to fit as the housing is a little deeper.

Now with new 91-95 Cougar lights being NLA it’s really the only way to get new lights for them at all. But I first did these in like 2007 before such considerations.
