Are the snap rings for the reverse clutch and forward clutch interchangeable? I see some info indicating this is the case when searching for parts but the Ford part numbers for these snap rings that I have found are not the same.
I ask because I am currently assembling the 4R70W from my 94 cougar (actually a 95+ Ford reman replacement I put in in the late 90's so it already had some of the upgrades like the mechanical diode, etc. and I added the J=mod) and the clutch pack clearance on the reverse clutch is too tight (.029") so I need a narrower snap ring. I was able to find the right snap rings for the direct & forward clutches but not the reverse so far.
