The ww2 era in the states was rough on women, all the men worth a fuck were drafted; the remainder were (4F), which meant "not fit for military service". Think bone spurs. Those guys could barely get laid by ho's.
When the men came back, women literally fought over them. Two of my uncles were ww2 vets, one in each theater.

I liked the BB halftime show.
