Any cool Christmas gifts?

After exchanging gifts that are rather boring, I told my wife and son that next year's gifts are remote controlled cars. Just because he's 21 doesn't mean we're all to old to have fun Christmas gifts. Now hopefully I'm not too old to remember next year.
 
I got a new Samsung galaxy tab S11, mainly for note taking in school but its a nice unit for all around cause it fills the gap between carrying a laptop and using your phone for stuff which will be nice
 
I got a sweat shirt by a company that manufactures in Ohio, never knew about them till this year.
My mother gets me a toy every year, this year she got me this, which I thought was hilarious.

I'm on board with the staying warm part as someone who is usually only outside to go between car and building, and is often underdressed for staying out in the cold longer. I just bought myself a couple pairs of flannel-lined jeans and pants. I've been revamping my winter clothing inventory this year while addressing how I don't really like layering much. I'd rather the one garment layer just be lined.

That looks so much better than the cheap single-DIN AA/CP head units marketed in China that have cheap textured plastic, ugly/cheap screen printing beside the buttons and ports, and sometimes a BS brand name. It's also exactly the right height instead of protruding or relying on a motorized flip screen.

There's a certain fit and finish that I expect from electronics that are meant to be seen, and I hate the way almost all of the Chinese-marketed head units look. If more of the mainstream western audio companies had put some effort into this head unit niche, I might not have thought, "To hell with it, I'm getting a DEX-P99RS."

The CP-71WA box image online says there's a USB-A port for loading external media files, but where is it on the unit?

Duracells? Probably for the best so they don't leak all over whatever they're inserted in. :LOL:

I hate Duracells I find they leak more than other batteries, I find energizer is the way to go to keep my stuff from being ruined by leaking batteries, I have photos of packs of Duracells on the store shelf leaking and they haven’t even been sold

Energizers are better, but I have seen a pair of Energizer Max AAs leak and destroy the electronic keypad lock installed on my parents' front door. I mainly use NiMH rechargeables, but lately I've bought some alkaline batteries for specific use cases when in hindsight, I really should have got single-use lithium batteries instead. They cost about 3X more for about 1.75-2X capacity, but they won't leak and have longer shelf lives than alkalines.

Brandon has some nice scopes :) I got to use his 8" dobs during totality in '17, at the party.
Get her a subscription to " sky and telescope," and "Astronomy" magazines, for cool stuff to look at each month., and a nice range of lenses.

Yes and Project Farm just proved akailine are obsolete thanks to the Lithium.
 
I use alkakine, and replace them every year.
lithium ion is great, I use them where i can. a aa li-ion+ a solid copper aa battery(a piece of wire works.) works for 2 aa batts in most stuff. 3.5-4v works fine, 4.5 may not.
 
The Bevigor ones are 1.5v per cell. I believe the chemistry is different (non-rechargable) than 18500 cell and other rechargeable ones. The comparison on project farm on you tube showed how much more usable capacity they have and I'm gonna get some to try in my flashlights and such as I'm always running to HF for AA batteries.
