Caliper Questions

Single piston wouldn’t be worth the hassle IMO.
The reason for the upgrade is to get the dual piston calipers for better braking.
Yeah I agree, unless its a plug and play installation. The two-piston units are just non-trivial to acquire around here.

Rockauto lists the single piston 1996 Mustang caliper with bracket as the same part for 93-97 Thunderbird.

Right, it would make sense that they're interchangeable then 👍

The ones you called huge monsters are the ones you want, Ironically enough. I'm pretty sure the ones pictured are the cobra PBR's, which need mustang hubs and 17" wheels.
Do you have pix of the two piston ones you called huge?

Received the Mustang calipers today:

I'll do a comparison with my stock calipers this weekend if I receive the new brake hoses by Friday. But I'm already pretty sure that they're identical. The reason I went with these is purely the price - I got these for 90€ while a full PBR upgrade would've cost around +400€ with the current tariffs.. And I would still be stuck with rear drum brakes after that.

The reason for the whole job lies within the brake hoses, that are ready for replacement after 32 years(?) of road salt bath, here's a pic from the rear one, the front ones ain't much better:

The current calipers are of similar crustiness as well, and I fear that the banjo bolts etc. have likely became one with the calipers.. Hence getting the new ones.
