Wife is asking about adding pedal extenders to the Cougar. Guess she has shrunk some... :P

Any one use these on their T-Bird / Cougar for someone less fortunate than most of us?

I had a friend that was pretty short and she had them on her 5 speed SuperCoupe. From what I recall they just bolted onto the regular pedal and just brought the pedal up a little higher. I actually didn't have any trouble driving the car with them on.

This procedure can bring the throttle pedal up to about 2" closer to your foot:

Now about the brake pedal, I don't know. I don't use that one.

GM apparently has an OEM accessory:

Anything else I see online looks more like a medical/mobility device.

The Ford Taurus Limited came with extending peddles and telescoping steering wheel (if ordered) and a few other cars. Seems the only vehicles that have it now (American) are trucks and huge SUV's.

We talked about getting her a Taurus Limited with everything on it, but they are fast vanishing into high miles and beat-up conditions (and its front wheel drive - GAG. I had a Lincoln Continental, no thank you again).

I went ahead and got the peddle extenders and she got a seat cushion designed to lift you up.

This will be fun for me to drive....

    ...not really.
