I’m into my front suspension rebuild. Any concerns taking the spindle to a local shop to see if they’ll run through the parts washer with the hub on it? It’s a bit past elbow grease I think.

Wheel hub is in good shape and I don’t want to take it off if I don’t have too.

Thanks! I took them off. I did spot that Dorman note in an old thread. Luckily Ford had a proper set for $14 each. And the parts guy ran my spindles through their parts washer….helped a little. My OCD will require a bit more.

I am still waiting on rear strut rod bushings and tie rod ends. And my mevotech box had a second drivers side UCA in the passenger side box…grrr. Waiting on that too. Work has me in Chicago next week so nothing gets done quick seems like.

At least with those arms, you can flip the joint over, and use it, if you have a press.

If you want, you can soak the spindles in vinegar. It will remove any rust on them although it does take time. It will slightly dull the actual spindle a bit depending on how long you soak them for. That is how I cleaned the Mustang spindles I put on my wagon. Beats trying to get in the nooks and crannies with a wire wheel.
