Never too early to start planning and it's only 9 months away!

2025 will be the 70th anniversary of the Thunderbird, so maybe we can get a good showing next year. Ron and I were there 10 years ago(!) for the 60th and I had a great time. Brandon mentioned a while back about going next year, so let's see how many BirdCats we can have there!

I need to get mine down to Mikey to take care of a few things, hopefully soon! :facepalm:

I'm already registered...Hopefully I'll be registering a second one too, if I can get my sc going as well.

As of 2020 one in six VA drivers has a suspended license. That's up to 1 million potentially unlicensed drivers on the road there with you.

As of 2023 VA ranked #8 in the nation for most speeding tickets issued, Radar detectors are illegal, the whole state is a speed trap, cops there have a hard on for out of state plates, speed limits in the state are unreasonably low contributing to increased speed trap revenue, etc. etc.

The last time I drove to the Joel Bender Memorial National Summer Blast AKA the JBMNSB which was held in Martinsburg, WV (circa 2015) I was stopped in VA while traveling BOTH WAYS to AND from the event. Not for speeding but apparently because my car looked suspicious or Sus. as my teenage son would say. Since the fucker had nothing on me and had to justify the stop I got a ticket on the way up for tint. Yeah, tint. You see, VA cops have a hard on for out of state plates. On the way back after being stopped AGAIN I showed the cop the ticket that I received on the way up and he said Oh, ok, drive safe and he let me go.

Also, on my way back from Carlisle in like 2018 I got a bad tank of gas in VA that ruined my engine. Not to mention the time that I got coal rolled up there.

So, yeah, I hope this helps explain why I'm bitter about driving in VA. I have no use for the Communist state of VA. I'll keep my happy ass in NC and will only drive in VA if work takes me there and I will NEVER drive my Tbird into VA again.

Try doing that with an out of state plate and tinted windows on I-81 between Wytheville and Winchester and see how far you get.

I wasn’t even speeding because I KNOW how the troopers are in VA and I STILL got pulled over TWICE in my T bird on my way to AND from Carlisle.

At least now we have WAZE to crowd source where they’re at since detectors are illegal there.

Get a Uniden R1/R3. It is undetectable by radar detector detectors, and picks up Ka band up to a mile away. My dad lives in VA, and I won’t go into that state without both my R1 and Waze.
