Ok so here's the story, I'll keep it short. I refreshed the brakes last summer and it went great, then I noticed a hot brake smell, traced it to the rear drums and couldn't figure it out past that. Took it to the mechanic (an independent one) and he figured out that it was the parking break seized up, which is kinda weird considering i was using before and it was fine for a long time but I trust he's right because it did get tight one day and then the smell started. Anyway, he gave me a list of the parts that would need to be replaced but of course said he can't get parts (because he only has one supplier) so what I'm going to do is find the parts I need and then have him install them, because I don't feel like messing with the brakes anymore plus I don't have the time.

So this is where you guys come in. I need help identifying on RockAuto exactly which parts to get as the names aren't quite the same and I sure as hell don't want to order parts and pay the shipping from the states and have it be wrong.
So here's what the quote said for parts.

obviously ignore the prices, there cad and this is just his quote.
I was looking on rockauto and some of the parts names are slightly different so I need some help identifying which ones to get, names are helpful, and links are even more appreciated. also any advice on which ones are quality is also super helpful. For reference, I have a 1990 thunderbird with the 4 speed auto and 3.8l and floor mount parking brake.
Thanks guys

So none of these can help me? they don't say out of stock but I guess I won't know until I try to order them

I stand corrected. I needed one years ago, and a jy was it.

The cables were available last I checked.

Did they say if the cause was seized cables, or something else? With drums it could be the adjuster mechanism, cylinder etc.

From my past experiences the parking brake sticking is almost always the cables freezing up. It's obviously worse in the North where the roads are salted.
They can sometimes be lubricated, and it will improve at least for a bit. It's usually best to just replace them though

Shops in yearly safety inspection states would get work from this. Stomping on the emergency brake that hasn't been used in a year to test it. Then it gets stuck, and they get some extra work $$
I think the code in NY for it to pass, was the car would have to hold in drive with the emergency brake applied.

That's definitely what happened to mine. Worth being sure before pulling the trigger on the parts, anyway. :)

Yes he did a full brake inspection and found that to be the problem and I trust him, so what he did was to manually released it and told me not to use it, so that it doesn't get stuck shut again. So I am gonna replace them, I just need help finding the right parts on rockauto, then I will have him stall them.

The left and right back two are the same. The intermediate runs along the drivers side than meets by the differential and hooks to the rear two.
There's a small one that goes from Ebrake pedal to the intermediate that probably isn't bad and a PITA to change.

You should just need the two rears, and the intermediate.

1 qty - RAYBESTOS BC95093 Element 3
2 qty - RAYBESTOS BC93868 Element 3

There are a few segments, in my case the two halves from each wheel were rusted and the main line that runs along the driver's side pinch weld was fine.

If that's the case, 2x BC93868 is what I'd get.

I think what I will plan to do is just replace everything, since he's going to be in there and the labor will be hardly different, I will just put the front in as well so that I don't need to come back to this in the future. In that case would I want the Raybestos BC93865? If yes then I will probably put the order in soon to ensure that I can secure the parts and not have em disappear, it kinda sucks to not be able to park on my driveway (its got quite the grade)

Yes, that looks correct to me. I never could figure out how to replace that front cable. I switched mine to a handbrake so I removed everything for the footbrake. The front cable I ended up just leaving where it is not connected to anything.

It’s no different than the other cables, it has a a few prong anchors to the body(like the rear caliper cables to the IRS subframe) and those inline clips that connect it to the footbrake/cable (there’s actually two “front” cables with the footbrake). There’s also a few steel clips that hold it in place along the way but it’s really not any more complex than the SC handbrake setup other than having those extra aforementioned anchor points

I just ordered all of these and have some installed. Find some of the Dorman stuff was rebranded Wagner. The Wagner boxes were on the Dorman boxes😆

I probably could have got it out but after tweaking my back removing the foot brake I was about done with the project. That front cable is short, and leaving it means no hole to plug... lol

LOL I either bruised or cracked a rib or something leaning on the sills of both a junkyard Mark VIII and then my car putting the footbrake back a weekend few years back, so I get it!

This hobby is so fun!🤕
