How y'all doin'?

Yeah the front calipers look stock. Cobra rears rotors and relocation brackets are really the only viable option with the bolt pattern swap.

Yeah, I guess it's been taken pretty good care of by the previous owners, mostly. Story is an octogenarian had it, then a couple 30-something guys who knew him and put the previous PI engine in and now me! I saw it on market place one morning and forgot to save it. Didn't show up again for a few days so thought it got sold but then low and behold, there it was again, so .... I'd been diligently searching daily for something faster than my other cars off and on for a couple years and Im very happy that it turned out to be a t-bird! Unfortunately it's got this issue here. Seller said it's been like that for about ten years! 😭so not the most fantastic deal but all the parts are worth what I paid and can go in a lot of cars when the time comes.IMG_20241215_173808993_HDR.jpg

I had a feeling based on the black paint on the lower body someone was trying to hide something. Like you say though a PI/supercharged powertrain and hub swap makes that a damn good parts car if nothing else.

I’ve also seen worse rot, being a lifelong Chicago area resident who used to frequent our numerous salvage yards in the golden age of Tbird/Cougars being in them. You’ll be fine to thrash it as long as no one crashes into you 😆

True, though I kind of like the two-look.

When was this? Damn, I'm too late to this car!

05-15. I could always find a dozen MN12s being in a yard without even checking their websites(if they even had websites with inventory) and I found everything; SCs, Mark VIIIs, supercharged XR7s etc on the reg. I pulled two rear bumpers off 94-95s, two 94-95 handbrake consoles, 3 145mph clusters, the factory car phone cluster bezel and buttons, and I found them mint too, my grey tweed SC seats were a yard find… something despite selling ages ago I consider one of my luckiest/most beloved items… I found SCs with magnum powers and other SCP upgrades, and even once a 94-95 bird with a cobra R hood(never pulled it unfortunately). That’s just to name a few standouts. Since then I’m lucky to find one a year, which is partly because TWO of my most local yards are gone, but really after 2015 things changed drastically.

Mind you this is for my Chicagoland area, cars rot to the ground here fast. I’m honestly amazed at all the MN12s you manage to find and why you’re now my go-to lol

That's all it's for: thrashing!

There seems to be a line just about where I am where just south of here there is less rust. Not a lot of people , though, so less old cars to choose from in general within a hundred miles. The good repairable ones get scooped up pretty fast. Lots of derby nuts to compete with, too. Bless their hearts!

True, but...most of them are a big mess, with the occasional gem in-between. Worst are those cars that have been parked under a tree for the last ten years. Rat droppings and all. And some of these interiors. Coffee stains everywhere. It's a junkyard, but I want it to feel like a showroom! I'm spoiled.
