I can't believe my car did this!

I was backing my car into my garage and my Cougar decided to get a mind of its own and try to kill my garage wall.

The cuplrit:


The victum:



The victum claims the culprit rammed into it and then proceeded to push harder into the wall causing untold damage (ripped paint). For retribution, the victum wants the paint back and placed correctly where it is missing.

The culprit denies being in the area at the alleged time the accident occured. Both parties are not willing to negotiate.

In reality, how do I get the paint off the bumper? I got a lot off with a light rubbing compound. I tried tar remover, but it won't stay on long enough to work into the paint. I don't think there is damage to the paint or the plastic bumper. I did use a plastic body scraper to try and remove some of the paint with little effect.

Suggestions?

I have had luck with very quick wipes of acetone, but proceed at your own risk!!!

After my car got hit, white paint from the other car's bumper had transferred onto mine. It came off easily; however, if the acetone stays on more than a few seconds, it may cause damage (dullness) of its own.

You need a more aggressive compound. Meguires Ultimate Compound, is great. If that doesn't do it, Ultra Cut will, but then follow up with the ultimate and then wax to get the shine back

house paint is latex these days, which is basically plastic. I'd start with a wet soapy paper towel on it for 20 minutes, then a fingernail, gently, or plastic scraper, then goof-off or sticker remover.
You have a thin layer of plastic friction melted onto your paint. Acetone is hard on paint. goof off is easier on it. I got a racing stripe off my moms caddy after my great nephew added one. (He was 3. )

Interseting. I put a wet paper towel over the marked area of the body, left if for about 5 minutes and most of what was left scraped off with a plastic putty knife. I bought both the Goof Off (Grog suggested) and Meguires Ultimate Compound that Zep suggested and cleaned up the rest. I used the Goof Off to remove the smaller stuff and anything I missed (it came right off with little effort) and then the Mequires to polish up the paint. After that, I sprayed on some car wax and buffed it out. Can't tell anything happened.

Cougar had a swing with a Thunderbird once upon a time...

Honestly, found those at a junk yard years ago. Could never find Cougar mud flaps. I was thinking today they look better than the Cougar symbol mud flaps.
