...for Fox body Mustangs of course. We can't get somebody to even make a set of halfway decent front shocks for our cars and they've got (potentially multiple) companies designing and selling complete IRS conversion kits. :cautious:

Unfortunately it’s all about market demand. There are so few of us who maintain, let alone mod these cars anymore. The demand for parts just isn’t there.
Yeah, I'm fully aware. It just annoys me that we are scrounging around for any junk that is remotely close to fitting our cars just to keep them on the road and these guys have a brand new $8k IRS that they can just bolt in.

At least Ford is remaking the PI intakes for us now though!!

I had to laugh. I was just poking around on craigslist after reading some of the posts here and found this:

Would the Mark IRS fit a T-Bird/ Cougar?
Mark VIII IRS is a direct bolt in, but other than the aluminum (open) diff and aluminum lower control arms it is identical to what you already have (unless you have rear drums).

Yep.

Then I found this:

And wondered if the engine and tranny would fit in my 94 Cougar... sounds like a headache before a vision.

Yep again.

Drums? In the REAR? NEVER!!!!

I've wanted to complete the 3.8SC swap with the rear suspension but want to maintain present wheels,, look. Problem is overall IRS width needs to be about 16" narrower than stock which means the CV boots would be contacting each other,,! Plus travel would be reduced to 6-7" and frame rails need to be moved inboard.
Problems, problems,,,20240615_104912.jpg

I think that's a light. :unsure::ROFLMAO:

Dang, I want a nice exhaust under my Cougar! I ordered OEM mufflers for my car that were supposed to fit the 4.6l dual exhaust and got the size of 3.0 bore (well, larger than OEM pipe). I had to manufacture reduction pieces to get the mufflers to fit the exhaust pipe.
Nice pipes 97!

What rear end does the LSC have? I've considered a full swap since I've got rear drums, but I also have the 8.8 3.27 limited slip and I'm not giving that up for anything. I'm assuming I could just swap my pumpkin over to a Lincoln assembly if needed.

Snazzy blender you have in the trunk, will you be adding an ice-maker, too? I assume that's what that white mounting bracket on the right is for. Big hit at tailgate parties.
It's a lantern I bought years ago for catfishing at night and later discovered it's great for working on about anything
