No mistakes, just happy accidents

One more question and then I'll stop, probably.

Since I'm putting a stock dash back in, and past me didn't expect to, I do not have the hardware to reinstall it.

Anyone know the thread pitch from memory? I think they are the same as fender bolts up top, no clue on the A pillars. I'd use fender bolts, but I have lost most of those too.

I do have this if you need more pics. I wish I'd never seen it......

But you get to enjoy the fruits of your labor.
I guess this car is the exception. It is absolutely shit to drive on the street. The track, it's the most exhilarating thing. But I'm not gonna be able to track it before I leave.

15 degrees of camber is shit to drive on the street? No way 😆

I know exactly how you feel, whenever I finish a project I’m left kind of numb to the result even if it meets or exceeds my expectations. Be it cars or any hobby I’ve had through the years. The planning and project part is where I seem to derive the joy from, which is frustrating because it is also what leaves sharp cuts, stuff in my eyes, burns, ringing ears and all the other crap that makes me just want it to be over with in the moment!

It looks really cool, the TE37s go well with the vibes

What's funny is it not so much the camber, even with how exaggerated it is.

It's the locked diff, the stiff springs/shocks, the fact there's no Ackerman angle in the steering geometry, the clutch, the cam, and now the fact the interior is mostly deleted. I can't even adjust the mirrors and I had to race home to beat the rain since it doesn't have windows anymore.

The car has become track specific. And unfortunately I've learned that you can 100% over modify a car, to the point where it's no longer fun to just take out for a cruise.

But that just means I'll have to build another one lol.

I don’t think the conclusion should be that you can “over-modify” a car, but rather that modifications are often trade-offs, and when anything is built to excel at one particular task, it will invariably be at the expense of other tasks. So the lesson to be learned is that race cars are not good street cars, and street cars are not good race cars.

I felt that way after the mark lca-poly-sport springs mod on Lazarus. It was So fucking stiff driving it to work was a drag! It softened up enough over time so that it's not as bad, but that first week was brutal.
BUT I can throw it into a curve at 90 and it be solid. :)

No bullshit. It's only fun at the track. Before it was fun to drive it to work and to meets and stuff. Once the angle kit went on it wrap.

Still, it's a track car. So like Mike said there are trade offs. But at this point I may pull the registration. I was keeping it on so I could street drive it and test things out, but its next steps are going to be visibly illegal, as it won't have any crash structures, holes in the trunk for the radiator and other coolers, lexan windows, ext. The bumper is only ziptied on so I could street drive it. I showed you guys there's literally nothing there, if it gets rear ended on the road it's gonna be ugly.

but again, I'll just buy another chassis for that. At this point this will be the proam build car.
