I've watched a lot of crap recently but THIS movie was a surprisngly good one despite a fairly limited budget. Premiered in SXSW 2025.
Best description: indie mashup of Edge of Tomorrow meets Everything Everywhere All at Once.
I just finished watching Mercy on Amazon Prime and I thought it was good enough to recommend here. It kept me watching even though I wanted to go into the kitchen. Watch it... it's an intense 90 mins.
The Boys have started their last season on Amazon... and its pretty dark.
The re-education camps and corporate hijacking of the USGOVT feels are a both satirical ... and so familiar.
I'd say its worth a watch unless you absolutely detest anything superhero related.
For All Mankind has started its penultimate season as well (S05) on Apple TV
Still enjoyable, but more of a slow burn than The Boys
Alternate 2012 is in some ways better and in some ways worse than our timeline. Humans have a permanent habitat on Mars, a clean fuel source for the world based on fusion and plentiful (asteroid sourced) iridium, it also has it darker side (the Soviets/communisim is still kicking around).
On a lighter note, Apple Newtons actually succeeded and appear as chunkier iphones (I think we had Iphone 5s by then in our timeline).
I recently realized that S4 of Invincible had started, so I started watching that. I need to watch the last episode drop, which I'll do tonight (maybe).
My next watch is going to be The Boys as @gunn mentioned, because S4 of that's show was pretty cliffhanger status, lol.
My wife and I just finished up with Endeavour. Basically Insepctor Morse the early years. We both liked it a lot, but I was 2-3 episodes in before my ear adjusted to the heavy British accent. We just left the subtitles on for the whole run.
