Rear Suspension Rebuild with Mark VIII arms

Bumping this thread to ask if anyone's identified a source for suitable replacement nuts (locking, flanged, class 10) for the Mark VIII lower LCA-spindle bolts. This doesn't make me feel great for a couple obvious reasons. At least they aren't so application-specific like the bolts are.

What about two nuts, one over the top of the other?

Or maybe a lock washer, perhaps?

I used a large washer and a nut from an mn12 lca.
One of my nuts looked worse than that one. Those are 12mm coarse thread nylok nuts. Measure one before ordering, but iirc it's 12mmx1.75mm pitch.

Maybe it’s because I’m from the magical land of rust but that’s perfectly fine. Otherwise the MN12 nut and a thick washer would suffice, but I wouldn’t hesitate to use that as is.

I'm trying to do things right (and clean) because currently, I have neither stock MN12 nor FN10 nuts on there now. I did eventually get the FN10 hardware from TBSC, which means it came from up north and it shows. I'm cleaning up the bolts to be sprayed with Cerakote as an addition to another bigger project. I don't feel that the nylon inserts in the nuts are going to hold up well to any attempt to clean up the rest of the nuts via either sandblasting or chemical washing given that they're already crumbling.

Why any of this matters to me is because once you go down the path of dressing up one part, you may as well take care of all the other details too. That's what I get for choosing to have my Mark VIII LCAs powder coated in bright metallic silver a few years ago.

It looks like both Belmetric and McMaster-Carr have M12x1.75 class 10 flanged nyloc nuts, but with flange diameter of 26mm instead of 39. The smaller flange diameter can be dealt with using a washer if needed, but I don't believe that should be an issue.

I'm so glad I ordered a thread checker tool the other day. I've been needing one outside of this purpose anyway.

The thread on the FN10 bolt/nut is M14x2.0, not M12x1.75. That's a good thing in terms of the replacement nut being a closer match to the stock FN10 nut's dimensions in overall height and flange diameter. Now we're looking at 18mm overall height (matches stock) and 29mm flange diameter.
