ProMedia LLC, home of the NMRA Ford Nationals (since 1999) and NMCA Muscle Car Nationals (since 1988), has made the very difficult decision to cease production of motorsport events beyond 2024.

I never attended one of their events, but I’ve been subscribed to Race Pages then Fastest Street Car for many years. I also have one of their shirts that came with subscription.

The car world has evolved significantly since the 90s, and hopefully drag racing and the environment around it will also evolve and not die out.

You were actually the first person I learned about NMRA from when I was really green in the hobby. When I heard of it’s demise recently I was wondering how you Kdanner et al felt about it as people very in it.

I haven’t talked to danner in years. It sucks even though I didn’t run the last 2 years due to work conflicting. There has been some serious talks coming from Sick The Magazine taking over in a way. They want to combine the nmra and nmca and do a 6 race series. They’re working on it and probably will have something for next season.

I’m probably going to try my hand at one of the drag n drive events. Sick summer is Byron gld Cordova and Iowa so local-ish for us. They also have one in Michigan and a new one in Tennessee. It’s something new for me and I think it’ll be cool.

I started in NMRA Mod Motor class in 1999 hence the MM 7030 number I've always ran on my car. Its disappointing that it was cancelled after 25 years. It has gone by the wayside like so many other organizations and tracks. I was fortunate enough to get the car to Ohio in June and was able to make one last run with the new set up.

Hopefully the Sick group will pick some of it up and include classes in their events. Whether or not anything that we could be competitive in remains to be seen.

I'd be interested in a 11.50 Index class if they could get one together and possibly make an event on occasion, depending on locations.
