    Sometimes when I gun it on the Mark, the cabin smells like rotten eggs for a minute or two. My friend says that's a smell of burning oil, but I think it might be an evap system deal. Ever run into something like that?
     
    Thats ironic because the bird tends to have a Cat code. I can believe it though. Maybe previous owner bypassed a sensor
     
    Converters have a scent you will not forget. Some say eggs, or matches, or gun powder.

    If the cats are bad, I would also want to know what killed them... usually it is a rich condition. Unburned fuel kills the cats.

    When cats get like that they don't always throw a code. As well our cars being so old, the programming back then was in general more forgiving than the later model computers. The computer program has a wide margin if that makes sense.
