Strut Rod Bushings

On the topic of the thread? does anyone know if these bushings are actually what they claim to be? i thought about ordering a couple sets just for the off chance these scp bushings explode or are too firm. These claim to be natural rubber like our oem bushings and look like it too but i wouldn't be surprised if i ordered and received the blue black thermogarbage

For the price it might be worth a try on those Mevotech ones and see what you end up with.

In 2018 bought a set of these discontinued Dorman bushings. I thought they might not have the split sleeves. I still have them in the box, they ended up being the usual cheap set unfortunatly.

I did order a set and I’m pretty sure they were rubber. I returned them because I lucked up found a set of OE bushings in an old box. My plan was to reuse the solid sleeve and not use the split sleeve.

You can’t order from mevotech directly. I used my summit account.

Did your OEM sleeves actually come apart? Up here you usually have to chisel them out. I am planning on just running a solid piece of DOM whenever I get to doing mine. I had to open up the center hole on one of the washers to make it work, but it is pretty easy to do.

I thought TBSC had an OEM style replacement sleeve set that they sold, but I cannot find them on their website.

When I replaced mine one side came apart cleanly, the other was rusted solid and I had to grind the lip holding the washer on off. Pretty much like my IRS bushings 😆

I think TBSC were selling the DLF made sleeves, no?

Mine came apart. The LCA bushings were not too bad. Frame side was degraded. I was able to reuse that sleeve with new continental bushings up front.
I used marine grease on the sleeves on reinstall. And spindle bolts. Tried to keep it off the rubber.

Yes, I believe they were the old DLF sleeves. I thought I saw them as recently as a couple of years ago. I guess they stopped selling them.
