Vice Grip Garage is giving away a NOVA!

I remember that and I think that’s Derek actually being himself. At that point they all knew each other from events and appearances and frankly I think VGG might actually be the bigger entity than Roadkill as far as fame goes, the latter I cannot imagine has the views on motortrend that they had with YouTube, and cable TV reruns are only catching a shrinking audience.
I wondered that myself if Dereck was just comfortable and just being the true Dereck. As for VGG being more popular, that is a fact jack! Look at the numbers on YouTube and Dereck is smokin' in the millions of views where RK does not get near that much. Now, for cable or views on the channel, they may have more viewers, that I cannot tell as I don't / won't have cable (but that is what Roku and others are moving towards, cable like viewing - "pay for view") and I did not pay for a subscription to MotorTrend channel. But the show is still on after 10 years and doing well from what I can tell. I was watching the one where they drove to Reno to swap the engine in Finnigan's wife's El Camino (did I mention I wish I had one?) and it was snowing, cold and the dog just slept the whole time. It's a show about cars in some shape or form. Like the time they went to El Paso on a dart throw and bought a car for cheap to drive back to LA. The show was not about the car, but the adventure they went on to get back on a limited budget in a low budget car.

I just had a chance to watch the Nova episode. I like the car. I like the upgrade to the Holley FI and fixing up some of the not so great work on the car. It isn't perfect, but it is pretty nice. Not sure what he is going to do with the wheels, but I think maybe 16" or 17" rally wheels, since the original dog dish hubcaps would be too hard to do.

I like watching VGG, ST, RoadKill, and Roadkill Garage all the same, mostly because they don't feel like they are staged. I'm sure there is some editing going on, but for the most part, they are just working through projects and taking stuff as it comes. I haven't watched the CRX video yet. I was going to watch the Stay Tuned where he gets those industrial LS 6.0 engines running first to see what happens with those. Most of the time I turn on one of them and fall asleep to them so it can take me 4-5 views before I get through an entire episode.

You should buy a hat or a t-shirt to enter the drawing...."you never know, it only takes one ticket" I am not a big fan of the merchandise, so I don't want to enter (and I am not a lucky with these things).

I take that back....

I like the shirts. I buy Gilden shirts myself, but the 100% cotton ones. I like my shirts to fit tight after 53 washes in hot water. <gag>

Yeah the lack of staged content is what I appreciate in all these shows that keeps me watching

I subscribed to the motortrend app for I think two years, before Roadkill itself left YouTube. At the time Roadkill Garage was exclusive for subscribers, it wasn’t on any other mediums and I thing Engine Masters too(which I loved but it seems to be done 😞). One thing I really enjoyed that’s still exclusive to there but no longer utilized was Roadkill Extra. Deleted scenes, extended scenes bloopers, Q&A, random tours through Dulcich’s hoard etc. It’s probably worth a months subscription to just binge through that archive if you enjoy those shows.
