So I just started playing around with the idea of offering to repair abs sensor wires since finding a nos one is very rare and used ones are a roll of the dice on if they'll work and for how long. I just repaired my front sensors. I'm not sure if anyone else has had success with this, but I had great success with the repair results and felt like sharing this and potentially offering my help.

What was broken/wrong with them? How invasive was the repair? How much different are the early and late sensors in terms of repair? I've never looked that closely at them.

The outer jackets dry-rotted and cracked exposing the braiding of the conductor and over time, it corroded and came apart which set an abs(antilock) light. There isn't much of a difference between early and late sensors in repair(if you mean 89'-93' vs. 94'-97').

That's about what I remember back from when I examined a sensor that went bad on my 96 - wires that went around the end of the reluctor sensor rusted away. It caused a bunch of ABS codes that made no sense when considered together, it was miraculous that I was able to get a replacement. They're not needed often but when you need one, you need one...
