Tried poking around a little and couldn't find anything. Will a Bullitt or TF intake fit under a 97 hood without a hole in it? Since the good PI isn't aval anymore I would like to find a permanent solution.

The TF seems to be a little lower than the Bullitt which might help, bracing needs to be clearanced regardless. The old tale seemed to be that stock OEM hydraulic motor mounts on a 96-97 will clear the skin, while the solid rubber mounts sat just a little taller causing hood interference. So I imagine taking that a step further with the current AJE which by many accounts places the engine higher it too would have issues.

Could always shim the K member down like I did to fit my 4V.

Thanks for the info. If I do get the AJE I could end up modding the engine mounts to get the stock height if that is the case.

Dredging this up from the dead, but I figured I would put some information I found here. Not sure if you got an intake or not. I can find precious little info on the Trickflow intake, but from what I have gleaned, the issue with the Bullitt intake is the throttle cable and/or bracket slightly interfere with the hood. The TF intake places the throttle cables on the front side of the throttle body, while the Bullitt is in the rear. Might help.

I cannot find any information as to whether the TF intake is lower than the Bullitt, but it looks like it is. The TF also has shorter runners than the Bullitt from what I have read. Don't quote me on these numbers since they are just from another post I found on a Mustang board (which I cannot now refind and it must be true since I saw it on the internet), but I think PI was around 17" runner length, Bullitt was 15.5", TF StreetBurner was 13.3" (verified on TF's website), and the TF Track Heat was 11" (also verified on TF's website) so you will gain some top end at the expense of bottom end as you go from PI down the list to the TF Track Heat. Looking at the bottom view of the Track Heat versus the StreetBurner, the ports in the Track Heat are huge.

Thanks for the info. This is still in the back of my mind. The nice thing about not needing today is I might come across something at a decent price.

Yeah, I'm in the same boat. I passed on the SVO supercharger on ebay a couple of months ago since I simply could not justify the cost. There have been a few Bullitt intakes on ebay since, but they are always missing one or two critical parts that are impossible to find elsewhere. There are also a few Typhoon intakes for sale here and there, but I refuse to spend $1k-$2k on that thing. I also see good used real PI intakes have gone up quite a bit in asking prices.
