It's kind of made to make a street car look like a funny car, but still streetable. It was big back in the 80's. The problem was a lot of them were mostly show and not as much go. Kind of the original ricers if you think about it. Some were really just made to be trailered show cars instead of really driven which I find kind of annoying, but there were some cool cars built. After people got sick of that then the pro touring trend kind of kicked in where cars looked more like they were made for handling, but you still got a lot of the trailered show car only cars. I can appreciate a really nicely built show car in any style, but I like to drive my junk.
Yes. And even on cars that came with live axles from the factory it often involves something totally custom like a 4 link suspension many factory live axle cars didn’t come with.
It was really popular in the 80s-90s. I caught the tail end of those cars being popular as a kid seeing them at the local cruise nights.
