Caught in the act. Hard to tell how much if any of the rearend has to be cut up for this kit.

Posting this just because of that luxury coupe comparison article posted a bit ago. Very clean and the engine should be good to go now. Wheels look a little big-ish for me. Price is not bad at all.

383 two barrel and it is pretty clean looking, but he is asking quite a bit for it in my opinion.

My gf's parents had a green version of the white one; it came up for sale, and when I asked her dad how much, she said she'd break up with me if I bought it, lol.

lol. I found out it was from michigan, and falling apart. I think he gave it to a jy.

Fuselage Mopars are a guilty pleasure, so I’m quite smitten by that Newport. I legitimately find that more appealing than a 383 69 Roadrunner for 1/5th the money. All the under the skin engineering that makes Mopars of the era unique and cool is in those!

Yeah, I'm not sure why I like them so much. I look at that car and then I look at my '91 Crown Vic out in the parking lot that is in very similar condition that I never drive because it doesn't handle very well and it gets poor gas mileage and ask myself how a '69 Chrysler Newport that weighs several hundred pounds more would be any better. I do like the lines on the Chrysler though.

SCP 89-93 raised cowl hood with ram air scoops. Brand new in box. Good price if you can figure out how to get it home.

It’s heavier but it’s not that much heavier, C bodies weigh the about as much as a modern Charger/Challenger. For me there’s something magical about Mopar torsion bars and offset leaf springs that give them bluesmobile magic. I just like the style, it was the last gasp of Chrysler trying to make full size cars cool, and for me it peaked with the fuselages. Comparitively Ford and GM full sizers got very boxy and conservative by this point, Chryslers on the other hand looked like gigantic Chargers.

NGL I hate that hood, never liked it, never will like it, it’s three different hood styles shoehorned into one. Stock is better!

One of thehardest things I've ever done was try to explain to a welder why welding the torsion bar didn't work. :)
I took both pieces to our next bonfire, put them in, and when they were cherry red, I put them in the ash pit, and covered them with more ashes. Gave them back a few days later, cold. Told him to weld it back together. I annealed it again in a fire, then got it red hot and quenched it in the old oil barrel. Worked great!
