Coffee Thread redux

It does. It's very well insulated. Not bad for an Ikea product.

"I'll be dipped.... " I heard about coffee snobs, but seriously, I never knew there were so many!

I did get addicted to Vanilla flavored coffee and never looked back. I allow myself 1 - 1 1/2 cups a day, least I get fried from all the speed in my coffee.

I need to do something different. Been limping my Keurig along for a while now. Never cared for it, but it worked. Now it doesn't accept my universal filter cup very well. Biggest thing is I like tea as well, so need to have something for both.

That's fancy! 'Love a french press and electric kettle. Doesnt take much space. Also like to get a head start on boiling for stovetop cooking

I prefer glass kettles over stainless, but a auto temperature kettle with a gooseneck for $70 is hard to beat.

Dang things (coffee makers) are just way too expensive. A simple coffee maker was like a toaster, not expensive, lasts generations and always works. Just sad that making coffee became a science. I don't know if you remember "Gale" on Breaking Bad and his "perfect" scientific coffee. Oh geez... Though I can admire the art to a good cup of coffee, the best I ever had was the frozen packets they used at the casino's in Laughlin years ago. Best coffee I ever tasted. We have to laugh because the Korean's make a bid deal out of advertising "Maximum Gold" instant coffee packets in their series and movies. Must have a lot of sugar in it.

I don't disagree entirely. I do love my espresso though.

A quality French press can be had for $40. Just get the beans ground for it when you buy them. Another $40 gets you a good kettle. By far the simplest and quickest way to make it. And if you buy a good enough press, it too can last generations.

Im throwing folgers instant in a cup, and using the keurig for hot water. instant in a cup is about .10 a cup, vs .90 for starbucks pods.

I ditched my Keurig last weekend for a cheap 5 cup coffee maker. Overall a better taste, but the ease of doing 5 cups at once instead of 2 brews is great.

I'm not allowed but two cups of caffeinated beverage per day. :( Strokes suck.
I used to love hitting the percolator every morning. I've since found out that they make the worst tasting coffee of all the options, lol.

I actually blend 1/3 caffeinated, so I don't overdo it. Currently blending Caribou coffee decaf with their hazelnut. Cameron's is really good too, but they don't have a decaf blend

We have a K-cup machine at the office which is nice. Don't have to brew a whole pot and inevitably waste it at the end of the day. Also gives everyone options with what they want to drink. We tell people to BYOC to share and toss them all in a bin next to the maker.

We did that too. Otherwise, it was the nasty service coffee.
