After spending the past 4hrs trying to figure out what was done to my cooling fan wiring let me just say something.

If you think you know what your doing, don't touch it. if you know you know how to do it that's fine.

Just got done dealing with bad crimps and wiring logic that well wasn't. And this was just 2 hots and 1 return.

Yes I do this at work too and deal with some of the same BS.

:zrant:

You haven't experienced true suffering in the electrical arena until you've worked on a Second generation PT Cruiser.
Close behind that are aftermarket remote start kits installed in 1990s vintage Fords.
Update: I forgot about the electronic horrors of the last generation of Lincoln MKZ.

Unfortunately I deal with this almost daily at work in the industrial setting. Hack jobs, non standard colors (AC/DC colors swapped mid runs,) if labeled ends of same wire have different labels-without passing through a device. Nevermind voltage color issues. and messy cabinets go without saying.

When i used to work on oil trucks, the older Internationals would have ALL yellow wires in the interior. Every single wire was yellow, it would have a circuit # printed on the wire that was in tiny little numbers that would frequently wear off. What a nightmare. I never used my volt meter so often, checking continuity again and again to make sure i was on the correct wire lmao :D

You’d love my new headlight wiring 😝

I've worked on industrial machines wired with one roll of wire. Black for everything. 460 3 phase, 110 ac, 12,24, and 48 dc. All black 12awg wire. If I hadn't had the wiring schematic, I' have told them to fuck off.
