to pull off a conversion that looks so plausibly factory that it can get a heretofore expert ponder “wait a minute” is something I take some joy from.

I think a big part of that is the conventional wisdom that a black interior should be an available option on any car. The fact that it was not an option seems counterintuitive, at least by today's standards. So when people see your interior, rather than being surprised it's black, they're surprised they haven't seen a black one before.
, not just to trick casual observers but myself who knows better.

Other than the Cobra emblem I prefer yours. I think the pancake valve and whatever the item next to it is makes it look like those were an afterthought on the Cobra intake. I assume you don't need that middle piece. Of you can also delete the valve then I can see the want.
Yeah, it looks cool, but there's 1 bump different on that lid, and they spent more time on the passages than they did on our mach intakes. I've fixed all that, and polished the top.
I'm not adding a snake. It was not worth the cash for the snake.![]()
Well that’s just tacky lolI do like it. There's an older one with the lincoln star, that would be cooler imho.
You currently have the Mach intake right? It still looks pretty cool besides minus the cobra logo.I was just perusing fleabay and remembered this one; 99 or 01 Cobra upper intake with the recessed Cobra emblem. God I want one of these so bad, but only for about $200 max

Are you ever goong to throw your car on the dyno any time soon? I’d love to see those numbers. A cheap upgrade you can do is porting the lower housing a bit, it’s pretty much all on the inside, those openings that lead into the chamber. I look for the graph but I think it picks up nice number up top and carries it for a lil longer.
Plus… I… particularly do care haha. I wonder what’s the peak, torque numbers and the drop off after peak. Why you resisting to raise it?? Is it because the idle sounds choppier a lil lower??Not likely, I’d considered taking it to one to iron out some of the issues I’ve been having tuning for the cams but apart from idle running it around with the WB I’ve got it pretty well dialed off idle to WOT so spending $1000 for the tuner to do what I’ve been stubbornly resisting to do(raise it from 750RPM to 850RPM) is just a waste of money. Plus I just don’t particularly care about the numbers.

Here’s some results with this guy Matt Hayes ported and shortened mach intake, I think it’s a 10” runner and it looks cool how it keeps making power to 7k without loosing torque. You can see the stock runner length murders the power up top. He also has a 6” runner that definitely would kill torque, but really driving that top end power.
Seems like lower gears is the problem solver here. More gear, more RPM, more funThe idle really chops at 750.
The thing with dyno sheets is you don’t see the curve before 3000rpm where you actually LIVE with the car most of the time. The fact of life is these are heavy cars and to make big power with 4Vs makes them absolutely gutless at cruising RPMs. I’d rather have what I have now with a strong broad midrange and sacrifice the 20-30hp at the top end a shortened runner intake and a more retarded cam degree would get me, it’s not a racecar.

Oscar built what, 5.33 or something like that?
How long has it been since @General Zod has touched his car? 12, 13 years or so at this point?

Ouch. What do you do when the little snake guy falls off?

@XR7-4.6 you first gewr tops out at what?? 40mph?? I found some gear calculators online and got some numbers. I forgot if you had the tr3650 and just guessed your tire size. Those 4.30’s must feel SPUNKY off the line!!

I’d like to go up from the stock 3.23 gears to a 3.73 or 4.10 but I just can’t justify the RPM til run on highway. I love 2000rpm @70mph haha. The only thing that does suck is, each gear drops out of boost crazy. @6500rpm it was hitting11-12psi and during shifting it drops down to like 4-5 boooooooring haha I’m sure the gear change will help in that department. I ended up selling the 6r80 swap a lil while ago to pay for baby stuff, which sucks but whatever.

No way that’s pretty sweeeeet, what year is your 3650 from??My TR3650 has the .62 overdrive, mine cruises 2200RPM at 70![]()

Has anybody looked into the MT82 from the s550 mustangs? They get alot of hate but they seem to be pretty decent with a lil work. 6 speed and they can be had for $500 or less
@XR7-4.6 woupd you happen to know where I can find his post on it? I’m kinda interested in doing that in the future.
