Since I destroyed mine in the head removal process I need another but can't seem to find one. Search engine comes up with a dozen results but none are the correct one...

Are they available anyplace?

When I broke mine trying to remove it a few years back, I ended up having to go to the junk yard to get one. I could not find one to buy.
I paid like, 5$?

From the U-Pull-N-pay:
DIPSTICK OR TUBE
$4.95

Good luck!

Yeah, I should have mentioned that I'm not willing to pay $100 for a Lokar. That's effen ridiculous!

Thank you for everyone's input. I wish junkyard Tbirds were as plentiful here as they seem to be everywhere else...

I was amazed to find I can get the pi trans dipstick tube I need at napa. Have you tried google?
They're everywhere, from ford to amazon, tsbc, ebay, everywhere I always look before posting.

Try FaceBook. Put an add in there that you need "x-part" with a pic of it and see what happens. I know that per different car engine bay designs, the stick and tube may be different, but worth a shot to get one from another said similar engine / car. Craigslist is a long shot, but who knows.

I ALWAYS check on the net for things before I post here. In the case of this dipstick, yeah, they are all over but very few actually state they are for a Thunderbird. Do 4.6 dipsticks from other model Fords work?

NPI and PI and teksid are different, but only where the retaining bolt flange bolts to the head, trans tubes are the same way, same tube, different flange.

The ebay part I posted is specifically from a Thunderbird. I have no idea if the Mustang or Crown Vic tube is the same.

I can see if I can get the one off my parts car in the next week. It's been sitting a long time, so I'm not sure.

I’m actually certain they’re all interchangeable for 4.6 SOHCs. The FRPP head changing kits used to come with new tubes

as far as I've seen personally, there's three types,as described above. I bent my pi tube for the trans, and then dug thru my parts collection, and I had those three types. The tubes and dipsticks are the same curves, but the bolt holes won't fit another engine, as the hole for the bolt is not the same. npi and pi are off by ~3/8", both lower and to the side. The teksid is way off from the others. It looks like the shitload of transmissions I bought over the years came with tubes. Thankfully, lol. The tube will fit,but no way to retain it. Without the bolt they leak.

The Teksid is a 4V tube so they would be different, but 2V tubes(in the low deck 4.6 variety) should all interchange. The placement in the block itself is identical, the biggest difference is where they attach to the head

I could not get the npi to bolt to the pi head. But I found another one that wasn't folded in half. (I put the pi engine in on top of it,the second time, by myself.
The junkie/thief/idiot that used to help me sometimes, pulled the tc out to meet the flywheel, after I told him repeatedly not to. I had to pull the engine out to get it back in.
