T45 Reverse troubles

So you basically cut half of the shift fork off and flip it over? Did this guy ever sell a kit or anything or did he just get a patent for it? I mean hats off to the guy for figuring out an extremely simple fix to an overly complicated design, but what is the point of the patent if you aren't going to do anything with it?

The fork is installed as is only without that extension section, the sleeve that acts on is flipped over to keep constant mesh.

As for the latter question I assume the holder expected Tremec to follow suit but by that time they had released the TR3650 which is a whole different transmission, although functionally works the same way as the patent.
