Winter storm this weekend!

My sister lives in Charleston, SC. She doesn't deal well with snow, or cold temperatures for that matter. She usually makes it a point to let me know how much warmer she is in the winter. I'll have to ask her how she is doing today.

It's on the way here, been windy all day and the temp is going to drop fast when the sun goes down.

First time I'm covering up my outdoor faucets. Household plumbing in FL is not built for 20° 🥶

How are the Carolina folks doing? ❄️

Enjoy the snow and double digit temps.

We are finally thawing out, had two days get above freezing then right back down to single digits and low teens. I can finally drive my truck out the driveway. SC not moving due the state of battery no CCAs.

And those 1975 kids are still the ones outside when it snows now. I'm not that old, but I went sledding down my neighbor's steep hill into their backyard after it snowed last year. I estimate it was a total distance of 100' with a 50+% grade for the first half or so before the backyard flattens out towards their brick retaining wall. Bring your finest dual-piston brakes otherwise known as your feet forward pointed up with bent knees, which I thought should have been intuitive enough, but my neighbor decided to shoulder-check the wall instead. 🤦‍♂️ If you're that far turned around, just jump, roll, or intentionally wipe out to get off the sled.

I can confirm that there were no 2025 kids out there.

I was proud of my son. He got out there on his own and hung out with the other neighborhood kids. They built an igloo yesterday.

The thaw is on though. Snow doesn’t stick around in the Carolinas. Most of this will be gone in the next three days.

I was still lucky enough to have my parents throw me the wellies and gloves and tell me to get out there lol. Its been quite the opposite for me as an "adult" i find myself inside more but i already feel like im getting too old.

Not thawing out anytime soon around here unfortunately. 🥶 Temps hit 30s yesterday and will today but then it's back into the deep freeze right into next week. Fortunately there's no storms on the horizon.

The last time I sledded was the blizzard of '93, My crew got snowed in at a buddy's place, at the top of a large ridge. We had 100 yards of yard, before it turns to kudzu. With 17-23" of snow on it, it's pretty cushy to wreck on. I have pix, lol. I was sore for a month, after 4 days of sledding, lol.
After Sunday no one was into sledding; Ipopped my shoulder out in one crash, and it hurts like a mother putting it back in., TG for mel gibson in lethal weapon showing me how!
I messed it up in a bike wreck, so it comes out easy. Going back sux!.

We're supposed to get more snow overnight, but it's supposed to be 62 by Tuesday!

I was in Daytona for the Rolex 24 during the first weekend of it. Sunny and mid-70s the whole weekend. :smokin2:
