Some good pieces here. Anything you need, let me know asap.

I don't know the V8s well. Is it normal that the intake manifold is aluminum? I always see plastic in your all's conversations.

The 95 v8 isn't one you would want for a swap, heads are weak, trans is worse.

They're port-able; some of the guys wbw made some serious power with those intakes, ported from hell, with ported heads, etc.

What like 210? 😆

They’re pretty terrible, the ports have really rough casting the elbow to the plenum is way way more restrictive than the 96+ one(often erroneously referred to as a plenum) it weighs a ton, its tiny EGR passages love to clog and it’s a bitch to service(everything is shoved in the back).

It’s an interesting manifold being the OG of the modular engine, as well as essentially being similar in design(but absolutely nothing of substance) to the SVO/Bullitt manifold with its aluminum construction and backfed plenum. Otherwise in the dumpster they belong!

That said, before the pi, jl put down some awesome numbers with one. That's where him, nick, and danner started.

I think you’re thinking of npi heads, the only people I remember messing with the pre-96 manifold was guys like leyland where they hacked and welded a 94-95 intake together wider to fit the 5.4. It’s junk.

PI intake swaps have existed since 1999, there’s no way in hell JL or Danner messed with retrofitting the junk 94-95 intakes on their 96-97 cars, definitely not Danner as I’ve heard first hand

There were people porting them before the pi, I discussed it with my dad, who passed on 99. Not much to port in a plastic manifold. Both he and tommy told me the same thing nick did; make them wide where they turn.
