Anyone have this type of air jack and is it worth it?

I was curious if these are easier to use than a floor jack. I noticed it only goes up to just over 17" (for this model).

odds of massive sudden failure is higher with these type. Brake parts cleaner does a number on them.

    Yeah that looks super sketchy

My brother uses one of these for his big rig. I think it'll flip an MN12,

We used those to move big machines and robot tables around. I'd use them to move a car, but no way I'm getting under it.

HA! But its lift height is 8 1/2".... I don't know if that would get me under the MN12. :P

I wish my current jacks went higher then 18".

Well, in conclusion, it would seem most think these jacks are dangerous and may work for some applications, but you better have jack stands under whatever you are lifting and a quick arm if the bag pops while putting the stands under the car.

My experience with a hydraulic jack is it won't lift if it has a broken a seal and if it breaks a seal under load, it will either not jack past a certain weight or just start leaking, slowly....

Thanks everyone for the input! I will NOT be buying one of these.

I saw what happens when the cinder blocks all break; I want slow leaks. not a sudden crunch.
A guy in hs made a really elaborate set of ramps out of cinder blocks , to take a trans out of a charger.
It failed as he was bolting it back up. His mom called 911, so no darwin but full body cast for a long time.
