Car of the Month Photo Submissions

But he's showing you the tires are like new... That's adds to the value.

Car (and in most cases, everything else) photography 101:

Photography is about light.
Vertical light is bad - it is harsh, casts shadows, and washes out colors with intense contrast.
Horizontal light is good - find this 1-2 hours before sunset.
Take photos with the light source behind you.

For cars, take photos at waist height, and experiment above and below. "Top down" shots rarely do a vehicle justice.

Quartering shots often look best. When taking shots of either side of the car, turn the wheels away from the camera to expose the rim, not the treads, to the camera (as was said).

Good luck... :)

Menacing! I love it

Not a full on Daily but definitely a proven street car. Built 2v motor with a little bit of boost and Holley EFI running the show. Th400 and some QA1's amongst many other things
The little trailer in the smoke makes this the hardest photo yet, 10/10

That really makes me want the 94/95 bumper cover, but i think id leave my 96-97 trim and black it out

I'll get a good picture of mine when I can wash it after all of this rain.

It's going to be hard to beat that though.

Please post some more pix of your car up. I'd like to see the full version of the photo in your avatar. Thanks.

How’d you get that car so low? Any speed bump issues? Do you bottom out over bumps or potholes?
It has QA1 coil overs, they’ve been in for a couple years now, and I’ve yet to bottom out or scrape anything at all, but getting a jack underneath it is a chore.
It’s lower than my turbo coupe, and the chin spoiler on that car scrapes everything!

I removed the chin spoiler on mine long ago.

Tell me about your headlights. Got a better pic of them? They look good. Wish I had better options for my 94.

Those are 96/97 headlights with clear corners.

There's an upgrade that you can do by replacing the front mount panel on your car with one from a 96/97 model so that it will fit that style headlight. As far as getting clear corners, they're an after market part. I think they're unobtanium at this point as the cars are so old. If anyone knows where you can still get them let me know because I'd like to grab an extra set for my car.

The 96-97 clear corners are no longer manufactured, but the 89-95 ones are still available

- 1997 LX, 3.8L v6, auto
- Stock
- Have had it for 3 years, was a rebuild project that I did with my grandfather over the summer

Damn shame. The 96-97 clear corners are so much better. But I understand, the 89-95 model range covers more cars so that's probably why they're still available.

It covers more cars but I’d bet there’s more demand for the 96-97 ones. Attrition took out a lot more 89-95s be it rust, ABS issues, transmission issues etc. based on what I’ve seen within the greater MN12 community 96-97 4.6 cars seem way more common.

I’m surprised Bill hasn’t put any out at $250 😆

Nobody has made any that he could resell......
