I understand your loss buddy.
I cried like a baby when I had to put my last dog to sleep. The one before that died in my arms. We never got dogs again. Hurts too much after 17 years to have to let them go.

...and is still hurts to think about it.

My oldest dog passed away earlier this morning.

We never knew his exact age because of what they told us when we got him vs what the vet said being a 4yr difference. That said, he was at least 16yrs old but could have been as old as 20. We had him for 12 of his years.

RIP Oso.

Wondering how accurate the Tesla charge stats are

So far I only charge at home at 14 cents a KWh and done 1500 miles.
I've been fearing the electric bill coming in after switching the daily driver to an EV. According to the app it has only used 446kWh to charge since we got it. If that is actully the case it's a suprising savings in gas money, especially since it replaced my Navigator that was averaging 13mpg.

I didn't notice a change on the last electric bill, but we only had it a few weeks then. Interested to see what next month looks like.
Where you will really see a monthly bill is if you have a time of use plan AND charge during peak hours in the summer (where the rates can vary >10cents peak vs off-peak)

Suggestions
- Set your car/charger to only charge during off peak hours
- Shop for different rate plans, either TOU that makes evenings super cheap OR even zero.
- I know some folks in TX and FL who for a flat rate get free nights (which seem crazy to me but this exists).
- Wait six or so months for the shit companies to die and get solar.

Honestly being an only child and growing up with a dog I’d known from age 6 to age 19 felt like I lost a sibling when she went. I never cried harder, and I did night after night for days. I don’t have it in me to go through it again.

So sorry @CDsDontBurn 🥺

I know the feeling... Sounds like you gave him a great life! Rip buddy.

Thanks again guys. We ended up burying him in our backyard. Vet wanted an exuberant amount of money for cremation so we opted out.

Definitely will be missed.

He would come up to me and lay down next to me whenever I'd sit down to watch TV. When he was in his prime he definitely helped keep the gopher and ground squirrel population under control.

I definitely won't miss him eating the big dog's poop though 😂. He especially loved those fresh piles. Like, he would just watch them come out of the big dog and he'd snap them up. 💩🤮

But the moment that will be seared forever in my memory is this morning.

He was still alive when I left for work. As I went to open the door, he popped up his head from his living room doggy bed and perked up his ears at me. We just started at each other for a little bit before I walked out the door. I hadn't even gotten to work like I said when my wife reached out to me saying that he'd passed away. 😕
