$6k is worth it if it has new tires, serpentine belt, and spark plugs.

It might still need new shocks. And if one wants to be proactive about it if it doesn't have it, the IM with the aluminum crossover.

Been holding out on this to not spoil my riddle but god this is cool! I truly figured this never existed outside brochure text, but there it is, a real deal non-A/C 89-93 climate control head.

I have never clicked “buy it now” so fast in my life! My 91 Cougar has had AC permanently deleted, even to the point of the holes in the firewall welded closed, so this belongs in that car! Plus it will go with my factory power lock delete switch bezels!

The funny thing is is the only place I could imagine being perfectly comfortable without AC would be California. Humidity is what makes AC a necessity, not just heat. June through August in Chicago may as well be the Florida Everglades but all you hear about from people outside the region is the cold winters.
 
Were there sports in 97? Every one I see are LE's, but they only have the spoiler.

Of course. LEs were not factory options, they were Ford sanctioned appearance packages applied by the dealer. The sport was an equipment package that got the JJJJ(or JJEE) springs, stiffer shocks, supposedly larger sway bar, Mark VIII brakes 16” wheels and spoiler for 97(96 Sports didn’t always have the mark brakes or spoiler)
 
Separate topic for residential, I intend to avoid installing a 6,000 dollar AC system at this place because there's really only 2-3 weeks that are miserable (95F+) If anyone spends too much time in a climate controlled environment then they will never be happy with the weather

Ha! Yes!

I wasn't really thinking so much in terms of temperature. I was more thinking in terms of export markets and a potentially different approach to optioning a car. More à la carte options as is common in Europe. Apart from Canada, I think these cars were exported to Japan (?).

I actually did one of my internships in Montréal during the summer, so I'm familiar with the climate.

I lived in Arizona for three years. The actual desert. And I used A/C in the home very rarely, for the very reason that there isn't any humidity whatsoever, and I like heat.
 
Tennessee actually has some low humidity days, in the middle of winter.lol. It's 14 degrees, and 75% humidity. Today is not one.:)
 
Clean looking Cougar. Don't see too many LS Cougars in that color that I recall.

Just putting this here in honor of my guy that I see driving to work several times a week that has a similar generation New Yorker. I'd say he is pretty hard core. I'm pretty sure he just got a very clean Chrysler Imperial of the same year span.

When I was in high school the only other MN12 besides mine was a bright red 89 that one was NOT in good condition, severe rust, bumpers scuffed down to the yellow plastic, chalky headlights etc.

I don’t care for the K car Imperial 😆
