I don’t care for the K car Imperial 😆
New Yorker K-Car wouldn't be my first choice either, but my hat goes off to this guy that drives it every single day and it looks like it is in great shape. Clearly he has a thing for the upscale K-Cars. I can respect that.

Obviously the AI machine knows better than everyone what makes up the MN12 suspension. A guy in our machine shop at work prefaces practically everything in conversation with "I was talking with ChatGPT and...". Nice guy, but way too reliant on important life decisions to a technology that seems to make a lot of mistakes.

Turns out I overshot, only because I know how split window fetishists are 😆

The real kicker is the birdcage (inner steel frame structure) is rotten and what little intact fiberglass left won’t be after it’s removed from that to fix it.

That's one fuck of a fixer-upper. 70k, and you need another car to do anything. Even biden's vette isn't that old. I do know someone with one, in knoxville. He owns a machine shop; I sent him an email. I offered to trade my firebird for it, in the '90's lol. He got a good laugh; He said he used to get pissed when people offered to buy it, but he'd mellowed since then.

Biden’s is the same generation, I think it’s just a 67 rather than a 63, they’re in essence the same car otherwise (minus the gills and engines).

What’s stupid about this is this is the sort of project that would actually be worthy of a project, something not to worry about Bloomington gold specification where you can have a split window and do whatever you want with it… because look what you started with!!!. Personally I think C2s look their best flared out. If it were me I’d throw a C3 frame under it and make it something like this

….the people paying $70k for the thing just don’t want to see something so vulgar done to a iconic split window vette so they will pay absurd amounts to keep it out of the reach of tasteless peasants such as myself.

68-70 Dodge Chargers are getting there too. Only usable part you can get from one for a mere $20,000 is the VIN and Fender tag

Weren't they steel body on frame that far back?
EDIT: No, that era was hand laid fiberglass.

Corvettes? Never. Right from the start in 1953 they were fiberglass bodies. They used full steel perimeter frames and the internal structure holding the fiberglass body together was steel but everything you *see* on one is fiberglass

Edit: Actually dredging up my furthest back useless car knowledge I think even the earliest Corvette bodies were 100% fiberglass including inner structure, somewhere in the C1 generation they started using steel reenforcement to hold the doors up, either 56 or 58 I forget. C2s and C3s got the full birdcage. See? I know a little about Chevys lol

SC/manual

I hate the painted wheels but that’s nice and a reasonable price. This might be a controversial opinion but 93 is the best SC year. You get the purest original styling and interior but get the Teves IV ABS system that has no failure prone unobtainium components, the later spindles, the later fuel tank, the LED trunk panels(although I do personally like the flatter 89-91 panel better unlit).

The black seats in that one are exactly the same as I have in my Cougar btw. 93s have a more spaced apart perforation pattern than the 89-92s, I actually thought my seats were recovered when I got them until I looked close inside another 93 SC by happenstance.

About 1.5 hours from me. Looks extremely clean for a Midwest car. I truly believe this was garage kept.

Maybe $10k? IDK, what do you all think? Not sure where the market is on a low mile car.

I'd still find that high for an aging car, even in this admittedly great condition.

True, but you can't buy much for $10k anymore.

Maybe just thinking how much it would suck to sell a car that nice for $7k.

You really can, I see late model 5.7 Challengers Chargers ect for under $10k on marketplace frequently. I’d rather have a Mark VIII but I’m biased, but if I just wanted a cheap RWD V8 car it’s not hard to find one. Most people would rather have the alternatives than a Mark VIII

Somewhat related. Unusually, 90s Mustangs and Camaros are populating the coup market this year on my craigslist. Theres probably going to be a lot of "get rid of that car" requests from friends/family. Panic selling cars doesnt make any sense to me though, it will only offset the ridiculous housing costs by a smidge that will not catch up to picking up a different vehicle

That's what I had done with Lamin-x. I swear I'm the only one who keeps banging the drum on this because so many people elsewhere on the web complain incessantly about their foggy headlights but won't do what's needed to ensure they stay pristine after they're restored.

This retrofit is now more than 8 years old. You tell me.
I often thought there should be some uv coating to protect the freshly cleaned and polished lights. I actually looked at the aerosol nyalic which is known to work on outdoor equipment. It is expensive, but new headlights are too.

Would hate to see this go to the junkyard. Lots of good parts on this. Someone correct me if I am wrong, but that looks like the white leather interior? Seems like this teal color is relatively rare in '93. I recall seeing it more on the 94/95 cars. I have no way to haul this thing home otherwise I would consider it.

Yes, the white leather was only available in 93, and only with the teal paint. I forget the exact numbers, but that is a very rare combination.

Sunrise red too(the color shift one).

I'm pretty sure it's this thing, but he must have cut in mufflers.

Could be one of the different variants on there, maybe the SC ones have the extra mufflers while the 5.0 one uses the single middle one? That makes logical sense to me given the two engines distinct noise characteristics.
